Shetland Sheep

These are just the friendliest little sheep. Actually most all of our critters are really friendly. We often joke that this is a Fiber Farm / Petting Zoo. But, really, these gals and their offspring are really friendly and love to come up to you for pets and cookies. Mama Marge and Big Mama are both amazing moms. Both giving birth to twins. Big Mama has the deepest voice and can be identified from anywhere on the farm. Last year both were exposed to a Blue-Faced Leicester (BFL) ram. The four offspring have really nice wool. I can hardly wait to have them sheared and send their wool samples off for testing with Yocom – McColl

In the picture on the lower right-hand side, the shetland sheep are welcoming Bacchus of Ginger – a newborn alpaca, to the herd.
